Why CloudPlans Exists

Why CloudPlans exists

Shopping for cloud hosting means opening a dozen pricing pages in a dozen tabs, each designed to upsell you, none designed to be compared. The review sites are worse: five thousand words, banner ads on every scroll, and a “winner” that changes depending on which affiliate paid more that quarter. Cloud storage has the same problem.

CloudPlans is those dozen tabs, merged, with the marketing stripped out. One hosting table. One storage table. Current prices. The catches printed next to the prices instead of in the footnotes.

It is run by an independent publisher, not by any host or provider. Some links pay a commission. The methodology page explains how that never touches the rankings. If you spot a stale price, use the contact page and we will fix it, usually within one business day.

What CloudPlans is

  • An independent comparison table for cloud hosting plans (Cloudways, Kinsta, WP Engine, Rocket.net, DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, Hetzner) and cloud storage plans (Google, iCloud, OneDrive, Dropbox, Backblaze, IDrive, pCloud, Sync.com, Mega, Proton, Amazon, Box, Icedrive)
  • Prices verified by hand against each provider’s own pricing page, with the check date printed above the table
  • Category picks decided by arithmetic (value per resource, value per TB) and stated features (managed vs developer cloud, zero-knowledge encryption, unlimited backup), never by commission

What CloudPlans is not

  • Not a hosting company, not a cloud storage provider, not AWS. We do not sell hosting or storage ourselves.
  • Not affiliated with, endorsed by, or reselling for any provider in either table
  • Not a review site: no scores, no star ratings, no best-of-year lists, no invented winners

Two verticals, one site

The homepage focuses on cloud hosting (the newer table, the higher-CPC vertical, and the one most CloudPlans visitors are shopping). Cloud storage lives at /cloud-storage-plans/ as a secondary table with the same treatment. Head-to-head comparisons for both verticals sit at /compare/.
